2011 Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Panama Linked to De Monte Cantaloupe Del Monte Fresh Produce recalled whole cantaloupes after an epidemiologic link was found between the cantaloupe and an outbreak of Salmonella Panama. Four people were hospitalized. Illness onset dates ranged from June 6 to July 15, 2011. No one died.
