Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced today it has updated the nutritional requirements a food must meet to use the claim “healthy” on the package, which includes criteria a food must meet to use the healthy claim on the package. They didnt qualify under the previous definition.

FDA officials were pressed about the failure of leadership and disorganization of the recall by Abbott Nutrition. Of 58 persons whose illnesses met the case definition 9 were hospitalized and 3 developed hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). This week there were three hearings in Washington D.C.
