An outbreak of likely Clostridium perfringens was investigated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Jefferson County Public Health starting on August 22, 2023. That day, a school nurse at Evergreen County Day School reported 40 or so illnesses following a school event on August 21, 2023. The outbreak was given the state ID “2023-30-129.

CDC reports 475 impacted by lead in Applesauce

As of January 16, 2024, FDA has received 89 confirmed complaints/reports of adverse events potentially linked to recalled product. To date, confirmed complainants, or people for whom a complaint or adverse event was submitted and met FDA’s complainant definition, are between zero and 53 years of age and the median age is one year old. CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health is conducting case finding efforts in collaboration with state and local health departments.

Spinach recalled for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination

Selinsgrove, PA-based BrightFarms has announced the recall of spinach grown by its supplier Element Farms in their Pompton Plains, New Jersey farm and distributed under the BrightFarms brand because the spinach has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
